Water Birch is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree native to riparian zones, wetlands and near streams in southern Sierras, Siskiyu and Modoc counties. It thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is often found along riverbanks and in areas with high water tables. This birch species has dark, shiny bark and a dense canopy, making it an attractive addition to wetland and landscape plantings.

  • Form: Rounded, bushy shape
