Aspen 'Erecta' also known as Swedish Columnar Aspen, a narrow, upright male clone which doesn't form seeds or ""cotton"". It features white bark and trembling leaves that quiver in the slightest breeze, leaves emerge showy red, mature to green through summer and turn spectacular yellow, orange and red in the fall. This tree is ideal for narrow spaces as a visual or wind screen, beautiful in groves or a strong stand alone vertical element. Roots are much less prone to suckering than quacking aspen. Thrives in full sun or part shade and well-drained, moist soils. Mature height 40 ft and 7-10 ft wide.
