Silver Sagebrush is a hardy shrub native to the Sierra Nevada foothills and HIgh Sierra Nevada regions, at elevations from 5,200-10,800 feet. Moderately fast growings and long-lived particularly in dry, sagebrush ecosystems. Known for its silvery-gray foliage and strong aroma, this plant thrives in arid, well-drained soils and is highly drought-tolerant. It is an important species in desert and semi-arid habitats, often used in reclamation projects and wildlife habitats.
