Tamarack Pine is a sturdy, medium-sized, long lived tree native to mountainous areas of California and Nevada from 5,000 to 11,000 elevation. Also known as Lodgepole pine, tolerates well-drained, rocky soils to water-logged organic soils and can withstand both drought and colder climates. Significant habitat for birds and mamals. Mature height 90-110 ft, average 16 inch diameter.
